New Building Hopes

In the last few years it has become apparent that our current building is not fit for purpose.   We started looking at options in 2014 and we identified a piece of land in Campbeltown which suited our needs. The land was in Bengullion road and takes up an area of approx 2000 sq metres. Argyll and Bute Council were approached to see if they would sell this land to us which was lying in a derelict state. It was agreed they would sell the land to us so we set about making up a funding bid, with the help of Highlands & Islands Enterprise and Inspiralba, to The Scottish Land Fund for funding to purchase this land. After months of hard work we acquired grant funding and purchased the land in the summer of 2015. Our next step is to apply to the Big Lottery Fund for funding to build a new processing factory and new Re-Use facility to recycle furniture and grow our bike project with better workshop facilities and shop front. Kintyre Recycling would like to thank everyone who recently supported our cause and gave up their time taking part in our recent surveys.
